Strange concept, you pay these guys to go swim in the rough river waters. I don't want that job. They risk their lives, several times a day to get paid by tourists. Just like the divers who get paid to dive off of rock cliffs at Rick's Cafe in Negril, Jamaica. I'd rather farm.

    You pay them to swim? For what? To watch them swim or get something in the water? or do you ride their backs whilst the swim to get you across?

    same thing happens in some areas in india. kids risk their lives for the thrill of tourists. great pic though. captures the reality of the situation for me. he looks so vulnerable in that intense water, but still somehow determined. and they feel sorry for us africans?

    lebogang, the waters are dangerous. so you pay him (and others like him) so you can watch him swim in the dangerous waters.
